Yeah I received EIGHT automated calls from the Republican party--one at 9 a.m. which is the legal time so you can't file a nuisance complaint. There was no way to call back the numbers that weren't blocked to be taken off the list and if this happens every election..... If i was a Reublican I'd switch.

Today, John McCain called and asked me to vote Republican for the real "Change".

Clearly a Sean Conners push poll. This boy has ambitions and people (that don't talk here) like him a whole lot. Would love to hear why.

Exactly my take...but who might be trying to "build their brand" and why?

It would be difficult to ascertain who commissioned the poll unless someone comes clean and admits it. I see good reason for all of the mentioned potential candidates --except Healy, perhaps-- to commission such a poll.

The order in which the candidates are listed is probably randomly chosen per call to smooth out order-bias.

From the script as relayed in this thread, it seems unlikely the poll is a "push poll" meant to sway opinion. It just seems like one of the candidates is trying to assess his or her chances.

Seems as thou Cunningham or Connors is trying to plant the seed of thought that they are amoung the most viable contenders. Mr. Levin's absence from the survey is conspicuous. Is there chance for a special election in the near future? Is there a way to find out who has paid for this telephone ad....er survey?

Just received the same robo-call, from a Washington, DC, telephone number, 202 area code.

One question, verbatim to the original post.

The order of the choices was:

1. Sean Connors
2. Sandra Cunningham
3. Steven Fulop
4. Jerramiah Healy
5. Other

Once the response number was entered, the call ended, w/o any further information or a 'thank you.'

I too received the automated call today at work. I can't imagine how this polling firm got my number there. That was even more perplexing than Dan L. not being included on the list of choices.

I got the same call too except Cunningham was second and Fulop was third. No Levin??? Had to be Connors - who else would think to include him?

Anyone else receive an automated call this evening asking about a special election?

It's a female voice that asks "In light of the recent corruption investigation, if an election was held today for Jersey City mayor, who would you vote for?"

It then gives six choices including:
Sean Connors
Steve Fullop
Mayor Healy
Sandra Cunningham
Undecided

After you make your selection the voice thanks you and the line goes dead.

Would the politician behind this call please stand up and at least apologize for interrupting my evening at home?

Thanks.
