I commute to Syosset everyday from JC, there is no easy/fun way to get it done. I drove for the first 4 months when I started this job... I nearly drove myself insane (no pun intended). I take the PATH to 33rd and then take the LIRR out here, it sucks, but it is sure to keep your sanity intact. Good luck to you my friend.

I commuted to New Hyde Park from downtown JC for a summer. I don't recommend it. Driving was the best way to get there for me, since I also had to take an LI bus from Great Neck Station if I took mass transit. Driving there in the morning is not all that bad, but if you get off work at 5, it will take you 2 or more hours to get home. If your work is walking distance from the station I would take the PATH to the LIRR. Still it is a pretty rough commute to do long term.

I used to commute to Port Washington which is similar, get a car it's faster and cheaper than PATH/subway/ LIRR commute.

I visit Great Neck weekly, and yes, this is the best way that I've found. It certainly isn't cheap, either; there are cheaper ways to do it, but considering you want to commute, this is the fastest way I've found.

Hi

Does anyone commute from JC to beyond NYC, like Long Island--more specifically, Great Neck area.

I'm pretty sure that the only way is to use PATH-->LIRR.

Not that I want to do that every day, but I'm wondering if there is anyone on this list who is doing it.

Thanks in advance.

Atsushi
