Cops: Teen shoots at passersby with BB gun
Monday, August 31, 2009 Jersey City police arrested a 15-year-old youth who was shooting at people in the street with a BB gun Saturday night, police reports said. The youth, a resident of Wilkinson Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of imitation fire arm for unlawful purposes, reports said. Police were called to Wilkinson Avenue at 7:31 p.m. Saturday on reports of a person shooting out of a window. On arrival, a man told police that shots were just fired at him from a window. When police knocked on the door of the apartment, the youth who answered denied shooting anyone, but police saw a black Glock replica on the living room floor. The teen told police "I didn't mean to shoot him" and "I was shooting at the cats," reports said. CHARLES HACK
