Yeah I believe John is the "big" guy right? He's the main one that goes after all the animals. Logically it doesn't make any sense that the proper protocol is to dump ALL CATS in Lincoln Park. Just imagine how the park would be with all the cats they recover? Oh wait, that's consider work. ;) We need new animal control officers. He's been around for years and just does what is necessary to get by. Time for some new blood in that department. Sorry about your cat. I'll pray for her safe return.

Great...I assume by your original post the cat was dumped in the "new section" that is the one with the two lakes, dog run and baseball fields? This section has the least amt of stray cats. I'm heading down to the park now with the dog, and this is where we walk to. I will also let a few others here know and show them the pic.

I printed out the pic. My dog and I put in a fair amount of miles around there. We'll be on the lookout.

Their protocol is to take them directly to the shelter. They are FORBIDDEN to drop them anywhere else. Animal control is being lazy and it's time we get some good guy/gals in that department. If you don't do anything, at least take your pics to the Jersey Journal and see if they'll do anything with it.

Can you please post the name of the officer-i have been posting about Hector Carbajales-who stole $12K from the HCSPCA, left animals to rot at the building after he was arrested for abusing animals. To the best of my knowledge he is still an animal control officer and a scumbag.

Yes..it is horrible and to the OP: if you have Pics send us one. There are many of us here that use that park daily. The more people looking out for her the better #1 priority getting your cat home safe.

Go after them Morgan, embarrass the hell out of them! This is disgusting behavior that must be stopped. I hope people are fired for this outrageous act, obviously this has been going on for some time. It pisses me off!

This is unbelievable. I beg you to record everything, times, dates, names of everything that occurs and write it ALL down. Document everything. This is something that needs to be sent to the higher ups everywhere, newspapers, news teams - these people will be covering their tracks fast. So act fast! They will! How do they sleep at night?

Do you have a picture of your cat?

What section of the park did they drop her off in?

I read the last night on the Yahoo group and it sickened me.

Can you please post a picture of the cat? I do about two miles a day with my dog in that park and will keep an eye out for her. Also, we have a few cat people that take care of the strays and I will alert them too.

Yesterday morning my neighbor called Animal Control because my cat sneaked into their house (she is an indoor cat and NEVER goes outside). Scared and frightened she was hissing as they locked her in the bathroom until ANIMAL control showed up. They put the cat into their van and drove to Lincoln Park...and dumped her.
No shelter, no chip scanning just a dumping.

When I contacted animal control to ask where my cat is, they said they don't pick up CATS ever, and they never found a cat...well my aunty who lives upstairs saw animal control take a small cage out of the neighbors house and drive off. (she didn't know the cat was missing). They continued to deny this until we told them we saw them...BUT still stood by the fact that they NEVER pick up cats. I managed to speak with the "officer" who dumped my cat and find the exact location - I called her name for 6 hours but still not found. Where they dropped her off is a dump site, thick with weeds and miles and miles long, dirty ponds of water and peoples junk everywhere.
Impossible to find a scared cat in.
It gets better...
After 3 hours of wondering around I went home to get the dog to "sniff" her out, my Boyfriend was up in a tree getting an arial view when ANOTHER animal control showed up again and dumped ANOTHER cat - he was clever and took out his iphone and took some photos and the number plate of the car.

They agreed to setting up some traps that night.

I find it totally outrageous that they are taking DOMESTIC cats and turning them into feral ones when they should be doing the OPPOSITE!!! Did they not read the rule book?
If any one is as concerned as I am, please contact me. This is disgraceful and something has to change.
Animal Control will LIE what their responsibilities are and even the actions they took to cover their own asses.....bottom line...they just don't CARE.
