More in the Philly area, but I think Longwood Gardens has an indoor area in addition to the grounds. It can make a good weekend excursion.

It's too bad Duke Gardens closed. I worked there weekends/summers/holidays all through my high school, college years and even worked there full-time before I landed my first post-college "real" job ('74 - '82). It was a pretty unique place.

Dark,

OK, it's not in New Jersey, but there is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Arboretum, and you can take the Subway

"It blooms in the middle of New York City. Set on 52 acres of wonderfully designed formal and informal gardens, the Garden is an expression of nature's vitality in the midst of urban brick and concrete.

Home to about 12,000 plant species from around the world, each year more than 750,000 people bask in the spectacular display of color, fragrance, and beauty of the Garden."

Looking for indoor gardens/arboretum/greenhouses in NJ. Something along the lines of Duke Gardens out in Somerset County.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_Gardens

Anyone know of any other such picturesque indoor garden locations in NJ?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
