Wow just yesterday I saw a car double booted! one from JC Parking and one of their own! (One on front and one on rear wheel).

Well, what about putting four "fake" boots on one's car? Where would the JCPA put their boot?
Note: It might be worth doing this and then videotaping the JCPA officer as he tries to figure out where to put the boot... Would prolly just get towed, boots and all, I guess.

I have found that you really have to watch all women's boots or shoes. The tips are mostly too small and pinch, look for wide toe boxes.
OK I gotta run, or better hop, I'm still helping Gayle move-in to the new place on 57th Street. The elevator better be working this time.

A few weeks ago, I saw a car with two boots on it. One was their own, and the other one was JCPA. They were different sizes and colors and they were put on different tires. I thought it was hilarious. That car was definitely safe from theft.

Why wouldn't they just boot another tire? There's no reason to override the anti-theft device

knowing the parking authority, they'll figure out a way to over ride the anti theft boots just so they can make a few bucks for their quota.

A few years ago after purchasing a new-ish car I was waying out the options between purchasing an alarm system or a self applied boot.
So, yes, it works as an anti-theft device, and it ends up being about $100 cheaper than an alarm which can possibly be disabled. I never even considered the additional benefit of avoiding the JCPA booting system. Brilliant!

They are solely used as an effective anti-theft device.

has anyone else noticed people putting boots on their own cars? I live in Harsimus Cove and see it on a semi-regular basis. (The same people doing it over and over)
My theory is that someone has a boot to which they hold the key, and they put it on there with the (probably correct) "beat you to the punch" theory that if there's already a boot on the car the Parking Auth. won't give them another one. In so doing, they avoid getting a real boot that will cost them money. Anyone else noticing this? It's often on Jersey Ave. north of Newark but I've also seen it in the Van Vorst neighborhood....
