Video tape and take photos of your property - especially where the floor meets the walls, the walls meet the ceiling, floorboards, tiled areas, window and door frames etc.

Hopefully during the neighbors construction they won't cause structural (cracks) damage for you and it will help, if you need to make a claim against them!

Howdy neighbor,

So Binny is gonna go condo crazy too! I think it is likely a good thing for this part of Newark Avenue - though we will likely be fighting for parking spaces with you.

Good luck with those construction issues -- you should talk to him.

A. Depends on zoning. My guess is they aren't required to have a setback.

B. Yes, you're almost certainly entitled to this.

C. assuming the zoning allows them to fill out the lot, they have the right to excavate.

D. 6 units should be less of a concern then the 600 opening this summer.

E. Limited parking means fewer cars means more people using mass transit. When buildings build parking it just brings more cars.

F. Lets hope the selection gets better!

The Liquor store building on the corner of Brunswick & Newark Avenue is trying to become a 4 story (6 condo) building with 2 store fronts. The liquor store will be staying. The new building will be built to lot (no setbacks) with only 3 parking spaces in the basement via a car elevator. Currently it is only a one story building and there is no basement just a slab.

We live right next door and will loose our windows on that side -- any thoughts or advice? We are concerned about

A. That the plans call for the new building to be to lot with no set backs

B. That there needs to be adequate gutters/shielding our sidewall from new added water running down from his top floor wall -- ( there is a 2 inch gap between our properties - our land )

C. We are concerned with the digging down next to our foundation wall for this new foundation

D. We are concerned with adding to the sewer system

E. We are concerned with the loss of parking in the area with his adding of only 3 new spaces - in a basement no less.

F. We are also concerned with his expansion of his liquor store via the gaining of more basement space.

We are supportive of development just wanting advice about when the development is right next door! The meeting with planning is Tuesday at 5:30pm at City Hall.
