Say weapons found in home
Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Jersey City police found a sawed-off shotgun and an AK-47 while searching the home of a man found with bags of suspected heroin in his car this weekend, police reports said.

Shawn Burrows, 34, was charged with several weapons offenses and multiple drug charges, reports said.

Police pulled over Burrows' Toyota at 5 p.m. Saturday in a city public housing complex and found he had 20 bags of suspected heroin, reports said, adding that police then got a warrant to search his home at Ocean and Linden avenues, reports said.

In the home officers found the assault rifle and the shotgun, as well as a dozen shotgun shells, reports said.

The arrest was the culmination of an investigation by the department gang unit that began Friday, reports said.

Burrows was in jail from Feb. 13, 2003, to March 10, 2005, on convictions for dealing drugs and bail jumping, corrections officials said.

Cops: Trio seized with 708 bags of heroin
Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Jersey City police seized more than 700 bags of suspected heroin this weekend and arrested three people, including two alleged gang members, reports said.

On Sunday just before 11 p.m., police arrested Roshone "Mega" Amaker, 32, of Fulton Street, and Brian "Mook" Richberg, 35, of Bostwick Avenue. Both are allegedly members of street gangs, reports said. Also arrested was Kevin Tillman, 29, of Neptune Avenue, reports said.

All three were charged with numerous drug offenses, reports said.

Cops were tailing the three men as they drove to Fulton Avenue and double-parked outside a building, reports said. Amaker went inside and returned with a package wrapped in lime green paper, which he handed to Richberg, reports said. The three then drove away.

Cops stopped the car on Ocean Avenue, and in Richberg's front pocket they found a lime green package containing 708 bags of suspected heroin, reports said.

Most of the heroin bags bore the logo "I came to kill," but a small percentage of them bore the logos "Hour 24 Hora" or "Overtime," reports said.
