Whatever you do, be careful with those bins by Best Buy on Marin.

These ladies come out of their cars and grab the clothes from you as you're putting them into the bins.

JCPD occasionally gets calls about it, but they punt to PAPD, who then goes all PAPD on them (i.e., does nothing).

Our sister shelter, Palisades Emergency Residence Corporation (aka PERC), is currently accepting men's casual pants (jeans or track pants), athletic sneakers and tees. No dresswear, please!

You can also take a look at our Amazon wishlist to see our most updated needs.

Happy spring!

I've been donating used items to the Catholic Charities since the Red Cross bin was removed from it's spot next to the fire house on Marin.

Salvation army does run a lot of great programs, including drug and alcohol rehabs that may be the only available option for some folks. This is why i donate to SA..though i totally get the desire for a more local option.

Hope House takes donations, and you can hand it directly to them.

I don't know of a place for sure, though Suits for Success/Dress for Success may accept donations?

No matter what, giving to SA is better than the "bins" in parking lots which are either torn up and recycled or re-sold in far-away countries for profit!!!!

Spring cleaning means getting rid of lots of clothes and other good you don't wear or need anymore. I'm wondering if there is a church or a program in the VVP/Hamilton Park area that accepts donated clothes? I'd rather donate to a local church that puts the goods directly in the hands of those in need, instead of Goodwill/SA.
