Hey, there are tons of bands, but none as good as The AlphaMales!
Does anyone remember Escapades on West Side Ave, my old bands Dead Squash and The Ferguson Five played there, for free pizza.
Here\'s a list of active JC bands that I haven\'t seen posted yet:
My band (kinda on hiatus), The Observers www.myspace.com/observersjc
Wellbaby, who were also Assins of Youth, back in the 90\'s www.myspace.com/wellbaby
HY80, featuring the Hyland bros from the now defunct Ottis Ball\'s Super Karaoke Funtime Band www.myspace.com/hy80 and www.myspace.com/skftb
The Fringe Dwellers, featuring 3/5 of my former band, The Racket www.myspace.com/thefringedwellers
The Coffin Daggers, NYCs greatest surf band practice at Pearl Studios http://www.coffindaggers.com
Polyabuse who have been around JC since before gentrification.www.myspace.com/newjerseypolyabuse
The Coils featuring members of Polyabuse, can\'t find their myspace.
The Casulties consider themselves NYC, but members are from JC www.myspace.com/thecasualties
The Subway Surfers www.subwaysurfers.com
The 1 & 9\'s www.myspace.com/oneandnines
Square Wave Punch www.myspace.com/squarewavepunch
And there\'s many more to list, but I'm tired.

Hmmm. This sounds like it could be a big Ponzi scheme, where the bands that play early get paid with the door money that the later bands bring in.

aoao, good luck with your efforts. JC could definitely use more rock venues. There are tons of dedicated bands in the area ready to play wherever they can.

how can we get in touch with them? i could use more demos/myspace music sites.

erin - i'd like to have all kinds of music. i'm not going for one set vibe. "for the love of music". i'd like to include indie, alternative, hardcore, punk, spanish, jazz, funk. all of it and everything in between. although, i will keep nights booked with agreeable genres.

also, i heard your music. i'm diggin' it. what style would u say u are, if you had to choose?

curious on where this is going to be held.
also, there's a lot of different types of music out there, w/ many bands playing it, what type of vibe are you going for on these shows?

yo mudbeast, good looking out on the support. will most def. check that out.

on another note, we have added another date to june 5, 2009. so to tally up so far, we have 2 dates:

may 1st and,
june 5th.

i am still looking for more talent. 4-6 bands for each night. so if you have any stage worthy friends, please let me know.

again, this venue can hold well over 200+ people, if not more. i intend to supply a system that will knock the block off. fyi this is in a non 'highly residential' neighborhood in downtown jc, so i think we can do this properly.

thank you again ladies and germs for your interest. i'm listening to all the music you send.

viva la rock n roll

Checked out Automata Chino and, though small, it does have an actual stage and great sound system. They have some cheap drink prices too. I liked it so much, my band will be playing there this Saturday, along with two other bands worth checking out.

Automata Chino - Saturday, 3/14
9:00 - Stun Gunz
10:00 - Mutiny of the Fashionistas
11:00 - Plowing Mud Forever

aoao, good luck with your efforts. JC could definitely use more rock venues. There are tons of dedicated bands in the area ready to play wherever they can.

Of course if that ever did happen and we got a decent rock club it would last for about 6 months until people complained and it got demolished for a parking lot for luxury condos.

erin let's hope this doesn't happen to what i'm trying to create. i miss my rock n roll. i used to go to cbgbs and the continental back in the day just to get my fix. and uncle joes to hang out and grab a beer.

i'm very adamant on this, and i can use some good ol-fashioned help; grassroots style.

so if u guys know of anyone who's stage worthy for may1st debut, let me know. PM me please.

It's what this town sorely needs. Lamppost does a good job with what they have(which isn't much) and Automata Chino (despite having a horrible name) is ok too.

I'm guesing you are new to the area?

eggz:
hey! i understand totally. i am currently in the mix of having all the things i mentioned above. i guess what i'm doing is just starting a minor buzz. i'd like to get stage-worthy bands on the debut.

i'm highly sure this place can fit over 200 and would like to create something lasting and not just a one-timer. hopefully i can get it done.

also, im not new to the area. i grew up on manila ave a long time ago. but thanks, i appreciate your feedback. could always use more though.

viva la rock n roll!

if i had a rock venue with a space that can fit up to 200+ and with an awesome system, i wonder who would come and play?

would there be steady concert-goers coming to check out the music?

and how much would u pay to get in this nice venue in jc?

just curious, y'all.
