Entering personal information on a .com site that is supposed to defend your privacy..., hummm, no thank you.
For browsers, use chrome instead of IE. For personal information, my preference is to use typos in name/numbers. This is especially useful for making sure that what is posted on facebook and social networks do not end up on a google search for your name. It is also useful for sites where one is supposed to enter accurate information by law - oops, iphone typo.

Try this link
http://www.spokeo.com/privacy Scroll down to the Removing Your Profile section Fill in the boxes You will need to do a search of your name , and enter the url of each of your listings. Click the Remove this Listing box and then check your email for the link to confirm removal. As mentioned you cannot use the same email over and over to remove your listing. And entries can reappear after some time. Quote:

I also suggest immunizing your browsers with Spybot - Search & Destroy (free), just don't enable "Tea Timer" on install and update/re-immunize every weekend....
This will stop you (or someone else on your PC) from browsing known criminal websites that hack/infect your PC! Program: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html Updates for after install: http://www.safer-networking.org/updat ... les/spybotsd_includes.exe Also install Crap Cleaner (CCleaner) (uncheck yahoo toolbar on install) and run the Cleaner/Registry check monthly... http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner P.S. I also suggest using only FireFox for browsing, with NoScript addon installed, only allowing scripts to run on "trusted" websites.. AdBlock Plus is also a nice thing to have running in FireFox if you don't like banners and popups

Thanks jchile. Even with these instructions, I am not able to figure out how to do it. I got as far as as "Get Full Results", which I assume mean what you wrote to be "Full Report". From there, I can only fill in credit card info to sign up for the service. Thus, I am dumb founded where to proceed from there. I certainly want to remove my info, which extends so some old addresses in different states.

Here are some old instructions that I had for spokeo.com removal
Go to it put in your name (all variations). Check for your listing(s) Copy the url of each of the listing(s) CLICK full report, which asks for money Scroll to the bottom, CLICK Privacy at the bottom Fill in your email and the url, and the privacy code It will send a link to your email that you click and will remove you from the site. You will also have to check the site every few months, to be sure that your information is not posted again.

don't make purchases over the internet when on open wi-fi connections...
go on spokeo.com and look up every email address/phone number/reference to yourself and have it removed. every few months i go in and re-delete my information because my home addresses and phone numbers often re-appear after creditors and other people who "share" information get it back on there.

If all else fails follow the instructions below:
1. Apply war paint liberally. 2. Take up arms such as bats, pipes, 2by4 etc... 3. Act as normal as possible ...that wearing war paint affords...and make your approach. 4. Once near idiot box/device let loose with a swift cavalcade of strikes. 5. Don't forget to cry freedom as you repeat step 4.

Criminals increasingly use the internet to figure out when you are home, what your online passwords are, steal your identity, etc. I thought I'd start a post on how to manage this risk.
- Password strength - make sure all your public email accounts, even old ones, have strong secure passwords. Even old ones you may no longer use: yahoo, aol, google, hotmail, etc. Use mixed case and numbers like HoT2TroTT or mYbaDa55Pa55worD. - Delete any messages with password/reset details. - Never ever reply to any unsolicited text message nor email. Don't ever "unsubscribe", nor reply. - Create and use a false DOB/SSN for every service that doesn't need to know. For example most Sony services ask for a date of birth - they get my fake one, because they don't need to know my real one. - Don't tell people on facebook, twitter, etc when you are on vacation. Post your pictures etc after you get back. Better still, just let your friends get the updates. - Your mother's maiden name is the reset password for a lot of older websites. Don't post it on ancestry.com. If you do, change it on the websites that use it.
