Don't know anything about this Bill Frasca of whom we speak, but I read the 7 comments to his letter on NJ.com. Only one of the 7 sympathized with his POV. Maybe we need to take what he says with the whole shaker of salt.

Healy is obviously a drunken buffoon who needs to be replaced but its hard to pin this one on him.
BTW, Bill Frasca is a loon. Take what he says with a grain of salt.

I am surprised there are no handicapped spaces in that lot actually as it's rarely full.
Fair enough regarding the US postage JadedJC but surely one of them could have gone in and dropped it off while the other double parked like most people do in NJ. It's almost acceptable now and generally tolerated by the JC police. Sorry, but as much as I detest the insanely high property taxes for our quality of life here at some point you have to accept some responsibility.

I'm responsible for the taxes on my Mother's house in Central Jersey and I just mail them in - four times a year. I've never had an issue. You mean the tax office here in that bad? Not that I have to worry - there's 'a few' more years remaining on my mortgage here though!

i think it's a bit of a stretch to blame the Mayor for the behavior of a parking lot attendant.

Um, no. I wouldn't trust those twits to properly credit my account or not lose the check if I mailed it in. The times I was responsible for making the payment (rather than the bank), I made the payment in person and didn't leave without a stamped receipt from the tax collector's office.

Not to sound crass but it seems this could have all been avoided by simply mailing it in.

On Monday, April 23, 2012, a couple arrived at the Jersey City City Hall parking lot for the sole purpose of paying their taxes -- even though the property tax rate in Jersey City is highway robbery, and escalated into oblivion, initiated and approved by the Healy administration. They found the means, no matter how overbearing, to pay their May 1, 2012 tax payment early.
The story gets better. Both of them are disabled, displaying a handicapped placard on their vehicle, identifying their condition. Unfortunately for them, there was no disabled parking or any legal parking available anywhere in the vicinity. So they proceeded to enter the City Hall parking lot and parked in a vacant spot. They were immediately confronted by the City Hall parking attendant, and they explained their predicament. They asked him if he could possibly find them an open spot, because they would only be a few minutes. He had a very compassionate answer: "Move or else I'll call the police and have your car towed." Now I know the Healy administration is comprised mostly of uncompassionate buffoons, but was this necessary? Especially when they were going to pay their taxes? One could only imagine, if they were one of Healy's friends or a political hack without a parking permit, then he would have not only found a spot for them, but he would have also been so elated as to find time to detail their vehicle. This administration is a total disgrace that is only matched by their arrogance, self-love, incompetence, and greed. The mayor obviously has no conscience or decency. He should be ashamed of himself, for allowing these insensitive incidences to happen within his realm of power. The couple asked me to withhold their names because they're afraid of any reprisals.
