Politics are local . Fulop's event will be well attended . Hillary is just here to pass the hat and move on. IMO Fulop is the inside favourite to be the next governor of NJ.

Fulop needs to concentrate on JC issues and NJ issues that affect JC - Don't punch above your weight!

Yawn. Anything from Clinton means nothing, imo. Around 2005 he was at the Casino in the Park for Healy. We were served hot dogs. Classy.

The Auditor | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

Back in 2013, former president Bill Clinton came to Jersey City to headline a fundraiser for Mayor Steve Fulop.

It was, no doubt, a big boost for Fulop, who hosted Hillary Clinton in Jersey City for a 2007 fundraiser when the mayor at the time, Jerramiah Healy, was backing Barack Obama for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.

But what one Clinton giveth, the other can taketh away.

Fulop has a $500 per-head fundraiser scheduled for June 29 in Jersey City. As a potential gubernatorial candidate in 2017, under normal circumstances it would be one of the hottest tickets in New Jersey.

But now he has to compete with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's first New Jersey fundraiser. And a rock star. The Clinton campaign just two weeks ago announced a June 29 fundraiser hosted by Jon Bon Jovi, from 6-8pm. That's the exact same time as Fulop's.
