Update 7/7/11, 11:20 a.m. - An underground fire has knocked out the Verizon circuits which support phone operations for the Municipal Court. According to officials, Verizon is currently working on the problem and hopes to have service restored in four hours. Residents should check back here or the Official Government Facebook Page for updates.

yeah it's absolutely ridiculous. I tried once and had to call 4 days in a row, with it ringing forever. Finally got some dude after probably 20 tries.

Anyone ever have trouble calling the courthouse for a traffic ticket? I have literally been calling 5 different numbers since 9am this morning and they are all constantly busy. Do they take their phones off the hook until a certain time or something, this is really crazy!!!

Yeah, I've gotten tickets that haven't been loaded in the system until after the "required" court appearance. I even took time off to go to the court house to pay it and they coudn't find it in their sysetm so they wouldn't let me pay. I asked what happens if I miss the court date, they said don't worry, they'll set another one.

Yeah, great system.

Is it the handwritten kind? Those don't go into the system until the cop who wrote it decides he feels like entering it. I got one once that didn't show up until three weeks after it was written. It didn't have the amount of the ticket indicated either, so I called to ask and was told to just keep checking the website to see because it could show up at any time. Don't throw it away!

Make sure you are reading the ticket # correctly. I remember having trouble with one where the number was overlapping other printing on the form, and I continually mistook a 5 for a 6 or something.
Otherwise, pay it. That's my advice.

P.S. I think you can search for the ticket with your license number.

i'm in a catch 22 situation. up to know the parking ticket that i got on 6/20/11 is still not showing up on their website for me to pay. should pay it still by sending a check or just throw it away? the ticket looks like it was written by a cop though not one of those people riding the golf cart thing.

I've been ticketed and paid it online literally less than an hour later.

I've had just the opposite experience. I have found tickets on my windshield at the end of the day and gone home and paid them on-line immediately because I didn't want to forget and be hit with extra charges. I thought the handheld terminals sent the tickets to a central data base right away. Do they still use written parking tickets as well?
