Jersey City cops seized 50 bags of suspected heroin and arrested a city man on drug charges in an apartment near McGinley Square Saturday, officials said.

Henry Love, 26, of Stegman Street, was arrested on Reed Street at 12:33 a.m. and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a government function and numerous drug charges including possession of heroin with intent to dispense.

Responding to reports of a man with a gun, officers spotted Love sitting on the front steps of a Reed Street building near Bergen Avenue, reports said.

Love refused to follow an officer's instruction to take his hands out of his pockets, and when he finally complied, he jumped up and ran into a basement apartment, reports said.

Officers chased Love into a back bedroom where he tossed what turned out to be five bundles of suspected heroin, reports said. No gun was found, reports said.
