Thanks for putting the location in the title -- nice job!
As for the story -- sorry to hear about this -- but why would they all walk in -- if they can see that their window was forced open and a car with a door open is still sitting outside? I would have called the cops and stayed inside my own car. Quote:

As user said in another thread, most of these crimes happen only to drug dealers and gangsters. So this family were likely drug dealers - thanks for letting us know user.

A Jersey City family coming home Tuesday night were attacked and threatened by a man with a gun after walking in on a burglary, according to police. Michael Johnson, 26, of Newark is charged with burglary, robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and obstructing. On Tuesday evening before 8 p.m., the victims ? a 37-year-old man, his 33-year-old girlfriend, and their daughter ? were entering their Bramhall Avenue home when the man noticed a dark blue Dodge Magnum across from their home, police said. The man noticed the car's driver side door was partially open, while the first floor window on their home was also open. A security gate behind the window had also been pushed in, according to police. More
