Yvonne, you really need to stop harping on this one point. It annoying as hell.

Tell us why you think Esther is the best candidate instead.

Team Fulop committee people won most of the districts in Ward B. We also won many of the Ward E districts, and some Ward F - though I do not have the full picture on F.

We get to vote for the new leadership, and that can affect assistance and cooperation that Mayor Fulop receives. So even if it doesn't sound like it affects you, its a big help to Fulop if you help get as many of his people in there as possible by coming out to vote. The ballot positions are way down at the bottom center in the #'s 16 & 17 area.

Plus, Team Fulop is seeking to make these committee seats more active in their respective districts to improve everyone's communication with the administration. So if you all get out to vote for us, it really will help.

Just an FYI - don't plan to vote for local committee members today via provisional ballot. I planned to cast a provisional this morning because I wasn't able to get my mail-in ballot off in time. The ballot I received at the station did *not* include candidates for local committee (which was actually the main reason I was voting).

The poll workers didn't know that local committees were even on the ballot today and tried to convince me that I was thinking mistakenly of next week's runoff election. (I wound up finding someone who could drop off my mail-in ballot at the BOE.)

We've gotten reports of the poll workers screwing this up. If you need to vote provisional, ask them to give you the GREEN piece of paper, which has the committee candidates on it, with your ballot. If they are still confused, call the BOE on the spot. Workers can give you that number.

Column C is empty. Rows are listed by number. What are the names you are referring to?

Ward E

E1 Irina Bereznaya
E2 Stephanie Daniels & Peter O'Reilly
E3 Bradley Tishman
E6 Michelle Timek & Robert Zuckerman
E7 Evette Gaetan
E8 Steven Sanders
E10 Robert McHugh
E11 Lawrence Cappoli
E12 Frank Scalcione & Ellen Simon
E13 Patricia Andes & Eric Fleming
E14 Taryn Boland & Dale Hardman
E15 Elizabeth Beaver & David Weltz
E17 Leda Duif & Stuart Culpepper
E18 Andrea Gaines & Philip Rivo
E19 Debbie Davis & Samuel Stoia
E20 Arie Sladowsky & Bonnie Sladowsky
E23 Robert Rafford

I live in District 9 - am I to assume there are no committee candidates running for my district? - and this would explain why my sample ballot is sparse.

You could write yourself in as a write-in candidate. Its a pretty easy role. :)

Its the very bottom row, in the middle when you look down and read the ballot from left to right.

OK, that makes sense.

What about all those people running unopposed for other seats? Is there any political benefit to withholding a vote for them?

Are you asking about the other jobs, like Sheriff, State Committee, etc.? If so, I know of no benefit to witholding. And to be very honest, I don't know much about the state level candidates myself - still learning. But at the city level - voting for your committee people from Team Fulop should help our new Mayor Elect, and your district as we have all pledged to bring back that local block level of support for residents.

Yes, there are a lot of roles up for election...a lot of names.

The committee people are along the very bottom row, with Team Fulop people in ballot positions 16C & 17C. Please come out to vote.

This excessiveness of overpriced, luxury crap is out of hand. You think the Grove PATH is too crowded now?? Traffic not bad enough for ya, too much speeding? Wait til more entitled, rich people invade. (note: not all rich people behave like entitled jerks, but a lot of them around Grove St. are do).

It really makes me sad how Downtown has now been given away to developers to such an extreme.

Honestly, that video doesn't show anything rude. You can argue that motorcycle exhausts are loud (inherently, some of them are) but there is a difference between a loud pipe, and a guy being a rude a-hole. From your video, I see nothing wrong. What do you expect them to do? Push their bikes down the block until they hit a main road?

I am not saying that there aren't valid complaints against rude, obnoxious bikers, but I have to say that I am starting to think that some people are expecting complete peace and quiet, and that's just not going to happen in the downtown neighborhood when you have so many bars and restaurants that attract both locals and out-of-towners.

And, honestly, if you have a beef with motorcycles, you better buy some noise cancelling headphones, or spend money sound proofing your place, because the bike riding season is JUST getting started. And, from what I have seen so far, there are more bikers than ever in this area, so you are in for a hellish few months.

Maybe you don't hear them near you, but I have been hearing these guys for years. They are VERY loud, they rev up their bikes like crazy, enough so that last night, car alarms went off a couple times last night.

You don't seem to understand, they're not just driving to somewhere and happen to pass by our houses, they are doing laps around town, and using Jersey Ave and other streets as a drag strip for back-and-forth driving all night long. At TWO IN THE MORNING.

YESSS! This has been going on for years & I am sick of it. Where are the cops pulling these guys over??

All of these "drop outs" are all well and good. But their names will still be on the ballots. So people can still vote for them. Its still important we get out to vote for the people who are still in this and still want the jobs so they don't go to these Healy people by default, ya know?

Why can't the June 4 & the June 11th elections be merged into one day? Besides committee seats, what else is up for election on June 4th? It makes zero sense. My neighbors - my large building had a huge turnout - are tired as heck of elections & the material/canvassing and general pestering that goes with it.

Clearly DT cared enough to vote (consistently). The rest of Jersey City doesnt seem to care enough to even select their own representation.

I am not arguing a good or bad point here... Does this mean we are at the beggining of a new Jersey City, where the ways of DT will start to consume the surrounding neighborhoods?

I think the concern has to be the opposite for Ward E in the run-off. Getting people out to vote for the at-large candidates again, when Ward E is already decided.

Exactly! And helping your neighboring pocket of Ward F that use to be in Ward E (the Van Vorst area west of Jersey Ave.) get their people out since those voters are essentially out and about in the DT area.

I definitely think it should be in a museum, or in a glass case in the lobby of city hall with an appropriate signage explaining the desk, why its kept - that it should serve as a reminder of corruption and that we all deserve better and need to keep our politicians honest.

Sell it to whom? The desk itself should be a museum object. If nothing else, it could be exhibited within city hall, accompanied by an informative label. (And that still from Boardwalk Empire.)

Sell it to the highest bidder. If said bidder wishes to donate it in such a way so it can be on public display, so be it.

I don't think we should have nostalgia for a corrupt past.

But those who forget the past are destined to repeat it.
