Re: Asbestos in neighbor's demo?

Unfortunately, this is something where there is no quick answer.

From the web,

"If you think you have been exposed to asbestos, remember that it can take from 20 to 50 years for symptoms of an illness to appear. If you?re concerned, here?s what you should do:

Tell your doctor that you think you?ve been exposed, and remind them annually
1. Ask for regular pulmonary check ups
2. Consider regular pulmonary function tests or monitoring
3. Familiarise yourself with the symptoms of mesothelioma, asbestosis, asbestos-related lung cancer, pleural thickening and pleural plaques ? and be vigilant when you develop any chest- or breathing-related problems. When you experience these symptoms, see your doctor and remind them about your exposure.
4. Quit smoking. Think about the cumulative carcinogenic effects that both tobacco and asbestos could have on your lungs: they each increase a chance of developing cancer from the other."

The article said they put it in the emergency compartment and were combative. It's too bad t here isn't a video showing the prelude.

Is the Hudson a vital waterway for NJ? Should we build islands like the Chinese to begin to assert our control over the river?

This is why the New Yorkers love Maplewood. It gives them that adrenaline rush reminding them of when they helped gentrify Brooklyn and Harlem.

Unfortunately, he can also be 15 going on 16 before the year is over.

Yeah richie is correct, this pupil was redshirted 2x. He is the equivalent of starting kindergarten at 7.

What a disservice to this child by placing him in a situation to be ridiculed by all the other students.

I wonder if the gun was brought in for show and tell or to defend himself.

This is not quite accurate. What was revealed is that Albertsons is considering making a takeover bid for Whole Foods. Albertsons is controlled by Cerberus. Jana Partners (a competitor of Cerberus) has also telegraphed similar intentions, going as far as accumulating a 9% stake in Whole Foods. Regardless of who wins out, this is not necessarily good news: these buyout firms can be brutal and vicious in their approach to achieve profitability.

What did I say that was inaccurate? A takeover is in fact an acquisition which => buying.

Bad argument. Three of those groups have constitutional and statutory protections; one doesn't. Can you guess which is which?

why is it a bad argument? just cause they might be protected, the idea behind it is the same...

I'm not quite sure what it will take for people to realize that there's no place in Jersey City for "aggressive" car drivers. Not only do they pose a serious threat to people and other cars, but they require the resources of our hospitals, police departments and lawyers when accidents occur. This is not to say that there aren't careful, defensive car drivers. There are. But, when they're not, they do much more damage than other car drivers. (I would grandfather in, those aggressive car drivers that are already here.)

You mean "distracted" driving? "aggressive" driving is very subjective...

I doubt they would be planning a second location when the first isn't even a done deal yet. Also if you go here http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/list/development you can see what stores are coming first.

This list http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/company-info/stores-development is where Jersey City is listed with a ton of other stores.

The company is currently in turmoil and the activist shareholders are demanding change.

That is insane,Zeppelin and Gold Coast were two of the main reasons we chose not to live there all those years back.

However, by now the withdrawal symptoms should be over and you should find relief not being tethered to activities that strain your eyes!

This person is 23, that is an adult who is 2 years removed from college. If you want medical attention you get it and leave, you don't have the hospital call your parents.

They went to question her at the ER, which is common with victims that require medical attention. Her parents were there and were told what happened and passed that on to police since she wouldn't. What part of that is fishy?

So if you got a call your 23 year daughter was in the emergency room after being attacked you wouldn't show up? They probably want someone to be arrested for this even if the daughter is scared. In the comments to this on the JJ website a commenter said the mom is even going as far as checking to see if any cameras in the area might have caught this on video.

Sounds like concerned parents that want justice to me.

What kind of mixed up individual goes to the ER and has the hospital call her parents ESPECIALLY if she doesn't want to cooperate with the police?
