Certain people are having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that the majority of crimes and terrorist attacks on US soil are committed by natural born citizens. It's sad.

If you search his court records online it says he was born in NJ. It also says he has five prior burglary charges and just started probation in January for one of those charges.

Yup, super weird retort. Was JC_Man confused by the Hispanic surname and somehow assumed this was an illegal immigrant?

In a country where the population of hispanics is fast approaching 20%, it is a bad assumption to make. Hispanics have already surpassed blacks as the largest minority group in the US, now estimated at a little over 17%. That translates to more than 1 out of each 6 people being of Hispanic heritage/ancestry.

"100 block" pretty much means any address between 100-199. If I had to guess he is most likely from Columbus between Barrow and Jersey. The apartments on that block still fall under "100 block".

JERSEY CITY - A 28-year-old Jersey City man is charged with burglarizing two Downtown residences and attempting to stab one resident with a screwdriver while fleeing.

Victor Vargas, of the 100 block of Christopher Columbus Drive, is charged with burglarizing a Bay Street apartment and a Grove Street apartment on Wednesday before running from police who took him into custody, the criminal complaint says.

Vargas is also charged with aggravated assault for allegedly attempting to stab a resident while fleeing the Bay Street building, attempting enter two other apartments in the building and weapons offenses related to a screwdriver, the complaint says.

Vargas made his first appearance on the charges yesterday in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.

At the hearing, the state moved to detain Vargas pending trial and a detention hearing will be held on Wednesday before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale.
