I have absolutely no problem walking through the mall every day to get to the waterfront. Walking through the mall is not undesirable to me and even if it was it seems a small price to pay for having somebody come in years ago and take a risk with building that kind of development to begin with. And even if it were torn down I seriously doubt anything that will be built there will improve the walkthrough experience all that much.

What does the parking lease agreement say about the garage door? What does the parking lease agreement say about the specific level of security to be provided for your car while it's parked there?

Since somebody brought up the importance of the "signed contract" what does the contract that customers signed when they leased a spot in the 9th street garage specifically say about the security measures to be provided for $165.00 per month?

Sounds to me like the case has been made to simply take your parking business elsewhere such as the mall which was mentioned.

Does the article mention the incentives the NY Times received to build their fancy new headquarters in midtown Manhattan a few years ago? Somehow I'm betting it doesn't mention that.

I think the power is back on on 10th between Jersey and Erie. I am in Queens now however I just tried connecting to my WiFi capable thermostat. I was able to control it using my cellphone while in Queens. Previously when the power went out I lost the ability to control it via WiFi. Seems to me the power must be back on then.

Has anybody else noticed the huge white tent that went up on the west side of Coles street between 17th street and 18th street right next to American Self Storage? I'm pretty sure they are starting the drilling process for the gas pipeline in that area underneath the tent.

In about a month or two the place will be in the hands of the current owner of Nha Trang on Newark Ave. He will move Nha Trang (vietnamese) into the space.

Why stop at requiring that private businesses allow the non-customer public to use their bathrooms? They should let us use their dishwashers to clean our dishes. And they should let us use their kitchens to cook our meals.

So........New Jersey residents are supposed to obey NJ state tax law and pay NJ sales taxes on their on-line purchases. Instead the NJ residents choose to engage in tax evasion and not pay this tax. At the same time they rail against the "rich" who do not pay their fair share of taxes even though the "rich" are already paying most of the taxes.

Update: Managers Tentatively Target Friday, April 27 for Enterprise Ferry Flight
04.24.12 WASHINGTON -- NASA managers, in coordination with Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum officials, tentatively are targeting Friday, April 27, for the ferry of space shuttle Enterprise from Washington Dulles International Airport to John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York. Managers shifted the flight from Wednesday to Friday because of a large region of low pressure dominating the East Coast. The weather is predicted to be more favorable Friday. NASA's 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) with Enterprise mounted atop will fly at a relatively low altitude over various parts of the New York City metropolitan area on Friday. The aircraft is expected to fly near a variety of landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty and Intreprid. After the flyover is complete, the SCA will land at JFK. The Federal Aviation Administration is coordinating the flight, which is scheduled to occur between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. EDT, weather permitting. The exact route and timing depend on weather and operational constraints. Several weeks following the arrival, Enterprise will be "demated" from the 747 and placed on a barge that will be moved by tugboat up the Hudson River to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in June. The shuttle will be lifted by crane and placed on the flight deck of the Intrepid where it will be on exhibit to the public starting this summer in a temporary climate-controlled pavilion. The Intrepid continues work on a permanent exhibit facility to showcase Enterprise that will enhance the museum's space-related exhibits and education curriculum. For more information about NASA's transfer of space shuttles to museums, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/transition

The last time I called 911 was back in 2004 or so. I was on the corner of 8th Street and Erie Street and the operator that picked up was a NYC 911 dispatcher. She couldn't recognize the address I was giving her.
My point is that this has been a problem for some time now.

It's great to be right on the park but do yourself a favor and make sure the apartment isn't right across from the children's playground or the basketball court. Those areas are pretty quiet during the winter but they can be the source of considerable noise during the warmer weather.

I second Cilento's remarks.
Plus you should keep in mind that Hamilton Park is served by the enormously convenient NJ Transit bus service that stops at Hamilton Park and will take you right into the NY Port Authority bus terminal. Bus #126. This service is an afterthought for most people but depending upon your circumstances it could be very useful.
