Re: Taqueria

Home away from home

I sat here and read all the posts. I concluded that the Taqueria could have better communication skills, but, the people complaining are the same losers who couldn't hold a candle to the owners of business's. They complain about everything, don't know when to let got, and there are two sides to every story. Many customers are d-bags, and feel entitled. I bet at there job they aren't to hot either.

Also, it's always the same people who complain. They should get together with the Brewsters of the world, pool thier money together, and put in the time, effort it takes to run a place.Maybe then they will realize what it takes when people like themselves come in and demand things because they spent a dollar in your store.

And people with Children, Leave them home. They are cute for a minute. Adults want to have a relaxing time. I have two kids and would never bother people with them when they were small. You love your kids, and people who don't know you will tolerate them for a very short time.

Please ! Corporate will tell you anything to leave them alone.
They are not responsible for thier stores. They are individually owned and operated. Maybe they did not get thier 6,8,or 10 % on the gross. But, that is all they are worried about. If one of thier franchisees are in financial difficulties they would not lift a finger to bail them out in any way. They will however try to see what your doing wrong, like maybe ,the rent is insane, of course after the fact. When your buying in, they just want to sell, even if they know you can\'t make it at a particular site.
The other MUST, is to have insurance to cover them , in case of a claim against the individual store owner goes wrong, and they are included.

Actually, you can say that about any affordable franchise.
The Hasbrouck Heights Gym does very well. But, I wouldn't wait for the home office to make good on any refunds. These stores are owned and operated by the buyer. The Little GYM will tell you that very politely. Just like any other franchise.

Home, Kids, and have to find employment. Would you want to be in that position? For those who never owned a business, or ran one, have no idea how hard it is to let go. There were probably some options to keep going, and maybe at the end it was not worth the continued risk. I feel bad when I see a business close up, because I know the investment and time
it takes. That Franchise probably cost him 250.000, and not including the rent , and other monthly expenses. Be happy it wasn't a substantial amount.

Also, Phil must be doing something right at the Taqueria .
Place in NJ and NY.

What makes any one think the Cops will do anything when they are the major law breakers when it comes to thier own personal bikes. The cops come to the Cigar store on Grove Street and from either Bay or Morgan ride right down the middle of the sidewalk. This is with engines running. Then they park on the side walk. The building owner has had words with a few of them over it.

Re: PostNet

Home away from home

After reviewing the Postnet store on JC List the last couple of times I was browsing, I decided to look in as I was going home. Monday & Tuesday night they must have been giving away something for free, as they were packed from front to rear with customers. I seem to think the drop offs wouldn't matter to them. But, if his strategy is to get people to mail thru him, it's working.Monday I went by at 7PM and the sign says that he closes at 6 PM. . Both drivers Fedex & UPS were hanging out waiting until he finished.

Mr. S on State Highway & Central ave,
Starting on Bay and wroking towards Newark ave was,
Staloff Hardward ( La Conga) A Material store that eventually moved accross the street and became several short lived stores before becomming the 1st Tanyas. Next Lucy Wolf (Stanleys Clothes). Next was the Mendez Agency and El Cuyon restaurant. Chinese restaurant was where the Aibonito Aces bar, next to them was a Car parts store, that was eventually sold to Willar furniture, and the corner building housed a Commercial Trust Branch that closed and only was just recently renovated. Going back to Bay street and going towards Newark ave, again was a Polish Deli, grocery combination with almost no product, next was Neumans furniture that housed the next thre business's that are there now, Jewelry, pizza, and J Nails. The material store before turning over was a Paint store B.Moore if I can remember. Morllees was located on Newark & Grove and it was known as Murray Walters clothe store. To many open and closed stores to remember between Murray's and Waldsteins another cloth store. In between there was Hudson Camera, a Medical Operation, parking lot. and a Little Further down you had Jersey City Tobacco, a large warehouse for distributing candy, cigarettes, and other
candy store items. Next to them Red Cross store and churchs chicken, and that became a parking lot. JC Tobacco also became a gym in between. Then Grove Pointe ended everything there. The newer Hudson camera was a Thom Mcann shoe store. On the north west corner of Newark & grove was a Clothes store, sorry I can't remember the name off hand.Very colorful character owned it.

The Triangle restaurant on Monmouth & Newar was served by elderly twin sisters, that was a great place. Sorry I am writing a things are popping up in my head. The Palace theatre where the parking lot is next tp Place Drugs, and the Western Diner on the left of the parking lot. The Central ave Theatre off of Sherman Place and the Ritz theatre up around Bowers Street. There was one of the 1st Chinese restaurants on a second foor.

There you go for now.
