Re: New bike path from Lincoln Park to Newark
Home away from home
Home away from home

I'm hoping we can get both sides cleaned up. I ride the South (eastbound) side of the highway?path to go across. To me it's easier than going to the other side of the highway to cross.
I'll make another call later to the Mayor Action Hot line & see if I can get the number to call the state or the county on this again.

I hope you are calling this into The JCPD so they know there's a problem in the area.

I would contact both the East Coast Greenway group and the Hudson County (TMA) Transpotation Management Authority with these horrible concerns. I rode that Greenway when they had the ribbon cutting ceremony in Lincoln Park. It was the only time I rode it. I was not impressed it is everything that is described in this thread. I was told by the ECG members that if the path is not maintained by the city/county it runs through then said path will be removed from the ECG list/map.

Thank you, I just sent both them links a email.

Only in these hyper-political times do we advertise these things. How about the city just do something without blasting it all over the press and social media? Just go catch criminals and then we'll pat the cops, the mayor and the councilmen on the back.

Your right, , why give these areas a warning that they are stepping it up. Just go in and go to work picking them up.

I did call the mayor action hot line again yesterday and they told me the county is responsible. They said they contacted them so we'll see how long before the area gets attention.
I did see a street sweeper this morning along the road sweeping, didn't look like it was cleaning much but at least the trash got pushed from one spot to another.

I know this is 2 years old but has anyone tried to walk or bike this trail lately? It's so bad, overgrown grass & weeds & trash, broken glass, etc.
Who is in charge of maintaining this area?
It should be kept clean espically since the Skyway is closed, some people like to walk and bike but can't now across this memorial bridge.

Same here, my friend had one pop up on Jefferson Ave last week, right in the middle of the block. It was in front of an empty lot.
I called the number and it was removed the next day.

It doesn't read to me like the officer made it up. It just appears that they're in trouble for posting the internal memo on facebook.

That scumbag cop posted a inside memo but also added names which he should not have done!
Say good-bye to your job!

What about the explosion at the Linden plant in the 80's or the 90's. It was overnight i remember. I felt the house shake from here in Jersey City.

I was on the beach in Atlantic City during the 2011 quake. All I felt was the sand move slightly like the waves crashed. About 2 min later, all the casinos were evacuating.

Re: To JC Bikers Who Ride on Sidewalks...

What we do need is a bike path going across the bridge on BOTH sides.
There is a pathway going across the 1&9 bridge but its on the North side, more people walk/bike on the South side of the 1&9 bridge to get to work since there is a traffic light at the bottom at Communipaw ave & 440.

I did in all the posts I've posted.
