I think it happened at Reservoir and Central.

Which is at the border of the south end of Pershing Field Park and the north end of The Reservoir.

2 on motorcycle shot, one in critical condition

Monday, March 22, 2010

Two men aboard a Suzuki GSX motorcycle heading south on Central Avenue in Jersey City were shot early yesterday morning, one of them left in critical condition, police said.

A 24-year-old Terrace Avenue man was steering the bike, heading south on Central Avenue, while a 22-year-old man, from a different address on Terrace Avenue, was hanging on from the rear, police said.

At around 3:15 shots rang out.

The 24-year-old initially didn't know he was shot, but he felt his friend slump, so he rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center, police said.

Shot once in the lower back and once in the lower chest, the 22-year-old had to undergo emergency surgery. His condition could not be updated last night.

The 24-year-old also got shot in the back, but was treated and released from the hospital.

He told police that after he heard shots he saw a four-door beige vehicle drive off quickly and turn left onto Reservoir Avenue from Central, reports said.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the police tipline at (201) 547-JAIL.
