Posted on September 10, 2017 at 6:04 PM By Caitlin Mota The Jersey Journal JERSEY CITY -- Two teen boys were arrested carrying loaded guns after police responded to a shots fired call in Greenville. The boys, both 14 years old, face multiple weapons offenses for the incident on Winfield Avenue Friday night, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said. At about 9 p.m., police were called to the area near Winfield and Ocean avenues on reports of shots fired. Officers saw the two boys fleeing the area on their bikes and stopped to question the teens, Morrill said. One teen tried to discard a loaded, sawed off rifle. The second teen was caught carrying a handgun loaded with one round and a spent shell casing, she said. The handgun was reported stolen out of North Carolina, Morrill said. Both are being held at the Union County Juvenile Detention Center. http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... ng_loaded_guns_after.html
