Please join us as we celebrate our veterans, active military, police, fire, JROTC, and Scouts tomorrow, Saturday, Nov, 12th at 12 noon. The Parade will start at Dickinson High School with an invocation and 21 Gun Salute at the Vietnam Memorial. Then proceed down Newark Avenue to City Hall where there will be a Resource Fair for veterans, entertainment, motorcycle and vintage car show, art exhibit, and a book signing by Frank Golon Sr. who served in the World War II with Gen. Patton. Hope you can join us and celebrate our Veterans!

2016 Veterans Day events across Hudson County

-- The Hudson County Korean War Veterans will host a Veterans Day tribute at the Korean War memorial at Washington and Dudley streets at 9 a.m. on Nov. 11.

--The Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Memorial Park (435 Newark Ave.) invites the public to its ninth annual Military & Musical Veterans Day Tribute "Honoring our Heroes" on Veterans Day at 1 p.m. The event will include a musical USO show by "The American Bombshells" and special performance by recording artist Lovari.

-- The city has organized "A Parade of Veterans and Heroes" on Saturday, Nov. 12. The parade will start at the Newark Avenue side of Dickinson High School and end at City Hall, 280 Grove Street.

Registration for participants will begin at 10 a.m. at the Historic Jersey City Harsimus Cemetery, with step-off from Dickinson High at noon. The Veteran's Resource Fair featuring a Motorcycle & Vintage Car Show and live entertainment will follow the parade.

-- The International Longshoremen's Association, AFL-CIO, (ILA) will honor veterans at the Global Container Terminal, 302 Port Jersey Boulevard, Jersey City, with a ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11. ILA President Harold J. Daggett, a veteran of the Vietnam War and Charles Ward, president of the ILA's New York and New Jersey District Council and Purple Heart Medal recipient for his heroic service during the Vietnam War, will speak.
