When they had this event in the fall (bi-monthly) there were some problems with a few little devils. The neighborhood is against this event, it seems it is mostly unruly customers from outside the neighborhood or out of town. While attending the police Captain's meeting the captain stated he is looking for ways to close this event down permanently.

I'm sure there's absolutely no connection between the "juveniles" engaged in massive fighting here, and the 75-100 "teens" who were brawling with each other at Journal Square last week.

Other than the fact that barely anyone got arrested. Nope, nothing to see here.

They were all just having some good old fashioned fun. What's wrong with adding a little extra excitement to the family fun atmosphere?

During one of last year's carnivals, they had the "eye in the sky" tower with no trouble that I heard. They may need to bring it out again as a safeguard.

All available police cars rushed to the carnival in Jersey City's Pershing Field when fights broke out among juveniles Sunday evening, officials said today.

At about 7:20 p.m,. an officer patrolling the carnival responded to a street fight at the corner of Manhattan and Central avenues but as he attempted to break up the fight, other fights began to break out between Manhattan Avenue and Ferry Street, a police report says.
