Have you tried Unemployment office on Summit ave, same building as DMV?

Over at 630 Newark Avenue, there's a place called Labor Ready. They offer temporary work, mostly manual labor, on a day-to-day basis. As I understand it, you just walk into the office on the days you want to work. You get paid by check the following day (at least that's how it worked a few years ago).

Beyond that, why not ask around at some of the law or medical offices? Those places are often looking for part-time people to answer the phone, copy files, etc.

A friend of mine has a paralyzed daughter that needs care most of the day. The family struggles financially and she is looking for a part time job that has flexible hours where she can make some money to help support her family.

She is not a high school graduate and I assume she would get a retail, fast food or other minimum wage job.

Unfortunately her daughter has lots of doctors appointments which gets in the way of full time employment. I am hoping to help her find a job of some sort in the Jersey City area.

Does anyone know of anything?
