I had taken Austin's class at Club H while he taught there. He's a very good teacher, even though the class was very easy (it was an entry level class). He's also a great guy!

Glad to see that he decided to open in JC.

It's fantastic! I've taken 3 classes so far with 3 different teachers and each one was amazing. Such a great addition to downtown JC and the only studio (that I'm aware of) that pretty much has classes every hour. The space is gorgeous, the location is accessible, the prices are competitive and the instructors are very helpful and very professional. Great experience so far and SO happy they are here!

saw this place as I walked by on Newark. It'll be great to have aerials in JC... need to check them out. Also saw that there was that Barre studio that opened downtown. All sorts of excitement.

When Austin Sanderson took his first yoga class in 2007 at Club H Fitness in Jersey City, he immediately fell in love.

?At 43 years, I found new ways to experience life through the body-mind connection,? said Sanderson, who took to Jivamukti, one of the nine forms of hatha yoga.

?What sets Jivamukti apart from other forms of yoga is the goal of true ?liberation while living.? The spiritual practice at Jivamukti is unapologetic and deeply felt,? he said. ?Gradually, it changed me and how I saw others.?




Eventually, he decided he wanted to teach yoga and trained with the founders of Jivamukti, Sharon Gannon and David Life. His life partner, Robert Hranichny, was his guinea pig.

?He would get frustrated that I wasn?t doing it right and I would tell him that my body was just not going to bend in that direction,? said Hranichny. ?Eventually both of us softened up a bit. My body began to get more flexible and he became more patient and understanding.?

Now, both Sanderson and Hranichny love yoga and have decided to open their own studio in Jersey City, where they are both longtime residents.
