Jersey City teachers say they fear principal over Facebook comments

By Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal
November 22, 2013 at 6:00 PM

The principal of a Jersey City grammar school is under fire for comments on his Facebook page that parents and teachers view as violent threats.

The comments, now deleted, were posted under a photograph featuring actor Michael Douglas holding a rifle advertising the 1993 movie "Falling Down." The film features Douglas as a Los Angeles man who snaps one day and goes on a violent rampage.

"This is how my work mode is about to flip..." reads a comment under the photo that is attributed to School 34 principal Donald Howard Jr.
