I'd like to see EVERY person committing any sort of violence or assualt be tested for substance abuse including STEROIDS - Steroids has been linked to irrational abusive, short temper behavior. Our own police officers have been caught using steroids and abusing suspects unneccessarily.

Anthony J. Machcinski/The Jersey Journal
Joseph Fallo, 41, of Jersey City, was arrested in Hoboken today after his girlfriend told cops he assaulted her over several days at two motels, police said. NORTH BERGEN ? A 41-year-old Jersey City man was arrested early this morning after cops say he spent three days assaulting his girlfriend in two North Bergen motels. The girlfriend reported the harrowing experience to North Bergen police on Wednesday, saying her boyfriend held a knife to her, told her to ?keep it down? and ordered her not to alert the authorities, North Bergen police say. Hoboken police arrested Joseph Fallo at about 1:45 a.m. today, North Bergen police said. Police say Fallo has an "extensive criminal history." Authorities say Fallo spent three days beating the woman, 46, at The Seville and The Fountain motels in North Bergen. Fallo is charged with simple assault, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held at Hudson County Jail on a failure-to-appear warrant out of Lyndhurst, according to police. His bail was set at $60,000. The Jersey Journal has reported in the past on a Joseph Fallo who has had run-ins with the law. In Sept. 2004, Fallo was arrested and charged with assault under the Domestic Violence Act for attacking his ex-girlfriend in Weehawken, reports state. In Aug. 2004, Fallo was taken into custody after cops accused him of stabbing his lawyer in the buttocks and forcing him to withdraw $230 from an ATM. Fallo was sentenced to two years probation in Feb. 2003 after he was charged in Bergen County with receiving a stolen vehicle. Hoboken Police could not confirm that those incidents involved the same Fallo arrested this morning.
