+1 on Castro's.
They were recommended to me by a neighbor who has worked with them for over 20 years. I've had them fix three appliances during the last 5 years and I'm always satisfied with their work and prices.

I just used Castro's to fix my washer and they did a great job. They fixed my problem, they were honest and fair and I would recommend them with out reservation.

Has anyone used K&D here in Jersey City? Their Yelp reviews (all 2 of them) are abominable: http://www.yelp.com/biz/k-and-d-sales-llc-jersey-city

I've used Castro in the past, with good results, BUT they're no longer on Frigidaire's list of authorized repair centers. K&D still is.

Tele: 201-865-2100 - the dude returns calls pretty promptly.

Is Danny's still good? They're the only company available that can service our central AC that's acting up.

Danny's is still good. Just call & tell him what the problem is.

You won't be disappointed with Castro's. They repaired our stove last week and the technician, Henry is a nice guy...pleasant and they are usually on time.

I waited for 4 hours today at home for sears to come. On the last minute of the last hour (literally!!!), the tech called saying he's running late, but should be here within the hour.

one hour and seven minutes later, I picked up the phone and called castro's to schedule another appointment for tomorrow.

I understand this is the nature of this type of business (you never know how long it will take to fix something, and unforeseen issues pop up), but this is just too much...

I would call Castro's. We have used them several times and found them to be thorough and honest. They repairs our washer, fridge and just recently our stove. They handle repairs from GE to very high end.

Just want to post an update:

I called Bosch about the repair, and their pricing structure is:
- $99 for onsite visit, during which I will get 18 minutes of the tech's time (!!!);
- after that, it's $120 / hr (and no, the onsite eval fee of $99 cannot be applied toward the repair fees)
- will provide 1 yr warranty for the part replaced.
- good thing is that the tech actually works directly for Bosch, and is not outsourced to a local shop.

I think I'll go with Sears repair, which is $75 onsite eval fee, which can be applied to the actual repair. Although Sears only provide a 3-month warranty for the replaced part.

Sears sells Bosch. I think they charge a certain fee depending on the appliance, the walk in diagnostic fee is applied to the repair it may vary though. A big outfit like Sears should be on par and knowledgeable in their craft.
Also have you tried calling up your dealer where you bought the washing machine from ?

I think it was ereplacementparts.com but there are a few sites that do it. I needed a special tool to remove the huge spring and clip from the door seal, so be warned.

We suspect it's the drain motor too! Where did you get the machine part from? Was it from places like home depot, or a website? Thx.

I bought a replacement part online, watched a youtube how-to video and replaced it myself. Total cost with shipping was less than $50.

I am currently having the same issue and have used Castro. May be a bit pricey but they are great!

how are the techs from Sears? Are they knowledgeable? do they charge reasonable?

Also, does anyone know if I should (or need) to be a Bosch certified / affiliated tech for this?

Thanks!

I would call Bosch to see if they have their own repair truck or authorized service or call Sears.
