..one more thing after Hurricane Irene my Direct TV was crappy. Finally realized that my dish moved from the strong wind which made my signal weak. Did you check your signal strength?

I noticed a sort of loud static/crackling sound every once and a while. Never heard it before. Also at times when switching channels the channel will be black for a minute or two but the sound will come through. (yes..delays, freezing)

Since hurricane receiver working terribly - delays, freezing, can't watch anything without some sort of issue. Troubleshooted 3 times & they told me it's a receiver issue they'll rectify but had no ETA. Thinking we'll drop them as they won't give refund, rather discount when it's not working....
