What I could not understand - and will not understand - is the "need" to blast music at a high volume for hours (literally.)

Certainly, this year was a improvement over years before (when they were unwilling to indulge our request to moderate the volume that was shaking windows a half a block away.)

I like the parade, but its remaining impact on the community is annoying ...

Cool parade to watch for once...however, the trash left behind around Hamilton Park was pretty terrible.

Bolivia declared its independence from Spain on August 6, 1825, so I think the parade is scheduled for the Saturday closest to August 6.

How I wished the Bolivan Day Parade was at Exchange Place. Been to their parade and I agree it was beautiful, lots of dancing, good food and very ruley crowd. Now they moved to City Hall area. UGH! why oh why?!

I've lived here in JC for 13 years and this is the first time I've seen this parade. I loved it! So many people dancing with such colorful costumes and I enjoyed the music. Well done! I hope to catch it next year too - I suppose it is always around the same time of year? This was really an unexpected treat!

It's one of my favorite days of the year in JC. If they keep it up I would think more and more people will show up, everyone I've talked to loves the parade.

The only thing I'm not sure of it how those guys dance for 2 hours in their wool costumes.

I missed it. I managed to watch video of the 2010 parade. Seems nice and colorful. I will surely watch it next year.

I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the parade. It was quite the thing to see. The outfits were very elaborate and each group had different colors, music, and dancing. I got lots of pictures and video. Also kudos to all the groups for keeping up their energy in the blazing heat wearing heavy costumes, if that isn't cultural pride I don't know what is.

I only wish there had been more posters up in the area as I had no idea the parade was happening until I was driving around and saw the street closures that morning.

This parade is well worth viewing today. Stunning dances, music, color and the costumes are simply amazing :)
Very class act parade, truly gives you a feel for the culture and history. My favorite.
