Local artists came together to discuss politics on Saturday, November 19th.
Occupy Jersey City, Anti-Injustice Movement, Jersey City Peace Movement, We Are Change New Jersey, and Truth-Media.Info have collaborated to form the Activist Art & Poetry Slam. This has been their third event.
Described as "A place for people to meet up and exchange thoughts," the Activist Art and Poetry slam aims to inform their audience about governmental, economic, and environmental states. It is through their artistic endeavors that they express their "god given rights as a people."
The night consisted of spoken word performances from both poets and activists. The show also featured artwork of top artists from the area.
