View Larger Map Roughed up store manager A Jersey City man was charged with stealing a $2.99 bottle of laundry detergent Friday after being confronted by the West Side Avenue store manager and knocking her out of the way before fleeing, cops said. Clarence McCany, 44, of Communipaw Avenue, was charged with robbery, reports said. The store manager told police she saw McCany enter the store at 7 p.m. and conceal items under his coat. When he tried to leave, the 24-year-old manager blocked the door, but he flung her out of the way, leaving the woman with scrapes and bloodied hands, reports said. Cops on Bentley Avenue, near Kennedy Boulevard, saw McCany, who fit the description provided by the store manager, and arrested him, reports said. Police said he was carrying the bottle of detergent.
