Two men armed with a shotgun robbed a 19-year-old Jersey City man on the West Side early this morning, reports said.

The suspects in the crime match the descriptions of suspects in a Union City armed robbery that occurred two hours earlier.

The Jersey City man, who lives on Williams Avenue, said he was walking on Mallory Avenue at 12:20 a.m. when an four-door, older model car with tinted windows and a loud muffler slowed as it passed by, reports said.

The car pulled over near Williams Avenue and two men got out, one brandishing a shotgun, reports said.

The robbers ordered the victim "to turn around and get up against a car," before going through his pockets and taking his a phone and $50, reports said. The men then ordered the victim to turn around and not look at their vehicle as they fled, reports said.

Suspects who were described similarly, and who issued similar instructions to their victims, robbed two men in Union City earlier that night. Police there are conferring with Jersey City police regarding the similarities in the two robberies, Union City police confirmed today.

The man with the shotgun was described as having dreadlocks and wearing a brown baseball hat and brown hooded sweatshirt, reports said, adding that there was no description given for his accomplice.
