View Larger Map Jersey City man menaced by gunman in one of two SUVs that pull up behind him Published: Saturday, August 27, 2011, 3:00 AM By Ken Thorbourne/The Jersey Journal A 35-year-old Jersey City Parking Authority employee was driving to work about 5 a.m. yesterday when two older model Ford Explorers pulled up behind his vehicle at Summit Avenue and Route 139, reports said. One of the Explorers then moved alongside the victim?s car and a man with a handgun stuck his head out the passenger?s side window and ordered him to pull over, reports said. The victim then took off through a traffic light and one of the SUVs followed, reports said. By the time the victim arrived at the North District on Central Avenue to report the episode, the driver of the SUV had given up the chase, reports said.
