View Larger Map Assailant stabs Jersey City man entering his car in front of his house Published: Wednesday, August 03, 2011, 3:00 AM By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal A Jersey City man was stabbed several times in front of his home as he tried to get into his parked car early yesterday morning, officials said. The 32-year-old Pearsall Avenue man told police he left his home at about 4 a.m. and while walking to his car he passed a man leaning on his neighbor's car and bid him "Good morning," reports said. As the victim was unlocking his own car he heard someone approaching and before he could turn around the man sliced the back of his neck, reports said. That triggered a scuffle, during which the victim was stabbed two times in his upper right arm, reports said. The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said. His condition could not be updated yesterday. Officers at the scene found a knife blade at the scene, as well as an aluminum baseball bat, both of which were taken as evidence, reports said. Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
