A 32-year-old Jersey City man faces seven years in prison after pleading guilty yesterday to dealing drugs from his home, officials said.

Erik Jordan, 33, of Cator Avenue, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school and certain persons not to have weapons, said Assistant Prosecutor Lisa DeMartini.

There are probably at least few others like this man in Jersey City. It's scary that he was living so close to a school.

Jersey City man pleads guilty to selling drugs from home

A 32-year-old Jersey City man faces seven years in prison after pleading guilty yesterday to dealing drugs from his home, officials said.

Erik Jordan, 33, of Cator Avenue, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school and certain persons not to have weapons, said Assistant Prosecutor Lisa DeMartini.

In exchange for the guilty plea, Jordan will receive seven years for the drug offense and serve two concurrent five-year terms while doing the seven-year stint ? one for a weapons offense, the other for a drug offense, officials said. Jordan will be eligible for parole in five years.

Jordan and his live-in girlfriend were arrested April 4 after Jersey City police officers searched his home, officials said, noting a ?confidential individual? had reported that Jordan was selling marijuana out of the first floor and basement apartment of his Cator Avenue residence.

During the search, Jersey City police found 100 grams of cocaine, two pounds of marijuana and the drug ecstasy in his personal possession, police reports said.

In addition, two weapons were found at the premises, reports said.

Jordan pleaded guilty to possession of one of the guns, a .45-caliber Taurus PT945 handgun, officials said. Jordan also forfeited $8,000 proceeds from drug sales that cops found at the property.

Charges against Jordan?s girlfriend were dismissed.
Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said Jordan?s drug dealing and possession of firearms made for a ?very volatile situation.?

At the time of the arrest, Jordan was free on $75,000 bail. On Feb. 16, he pleaded guilty to intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school after being found with several vials of cocaine and cash during a routine traffic stop, officials said.
