View Larger Map Jersey City woman sexually assaulted Published: Monday, June 06, 2011, 3:00 AM By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal A 22-year old Jersey City woman was dragged into an alleyway and sexually assaulted by a stranger early yesterday morning, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said. The woman was walking home alone along Kennedy Boulevard about 5 a.m. when a man grabbed her and forced her into an alleyway next to a church at McAdoo Avenue and sexually assaulted her, DeFazio said. A passer-by came across the scene and the woman?s attacker ran off, he said. DeFazio said the victim, who did not know her attacker, was able to provide a description of her attacker to authorities, but the prosecutor declined to provide further information, saying the matter is under investigation. The victim was treated at Christ Hospital and released, he said. ?The investigation is ongoing with the Jersey City Police Department,? DeFazio said. ?She did not receive serious physical injuries but she was traumatized, clearly.? Anybody with information should call (201)-915-1234.
