View Larger Map Jersey City police say 16-year-old boy pushes cops and tries to take gun while they talk to him after he argues with his mother Wednesday, April 20, 2011 A 16-year-old Jersey City boy who was arguing with his mother attacked police officers who intervened Monday night, police said. When police arrived at the St. Paul's Avenue home at 11:18 p.m., the boy told one officer, "Let's go outside and see what's up," reports said. Police followed the boy when he walked down a set of stairs to a hallway and the boy pushed both cops in the chest, reports said. Told that he was under arrest, the boy reached for and grabbed the handle of the gun of one of the arresting officers, reports said. After a struggle the boy was arrested and brought to the juvenile detention center in Secaucus. The boy was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disarming a law enforcement officer. JOURNAL STAFF
