View Larger Map Panhandler attacks man on Jersey City Heights street at 12:45 a.m., police say Wednesday, April 06, 2011 A 41-year-old Jersey City man was left with a fat lip and swollen left index finger after he was attacked early yesterday in the Heights by a man who had asked him for a dollar, reports said. The victim said he was walking east on Hutton Street near Sherman Avenue at about 12:45 a.m. when a man asked him for $1, reports said. When the victim refused, the suspect punched him on the back of his head, kicked him on his right hip several times, and then walked away, reports said. The victim refused medical attention. Police searched the area looking for the assailant but didn't find any suspect, reports said. KEN THORBOURNE
