View Larger Map Police arrest 3 teens charged with robbing Jersey City man Tuesday, November 16, 2010, 12:23 PM Mark Maurer/The Jersey Journal A 26-year-old Jersey City man said he was robbed by a quintet of juveniles on Liberty Avenue Monday night, according to police reports. Police arrested Nicholas Perez, 19, of Bayonne, in addition to a 16-year-old Wales Avenue boy and a 16-year-old Lexington Avenue boy, were arrested in connection with the robbery of the victim's backpack, which was later found to be empty. Around 7:45 p.m., the victim said he was walking home when a group of five men approached him from behind, reports said. One man hit the victim in the head with an open hand, then snagged his backpack from his shoulders, police noted. The trio ran south on Liberty Avenue but were soon apprehended by police, reports said. Police could not locate the other two men involved. The two juveniles were transported to the department?s Juvenile Bureau for processing, police said.
