View Larger Map Three men shot in Jersey City within three hours in separate incidents Monday, October 25, 2010 By CHARLES HACK JOURNAL STAFF WRITER Within three hours from Saturday night into early Sunday morning, three men were shot in three separate incidents in Jersey City, reports said. The three victims all suffered non-life threatening wounds and none of them could identify the shooters, reports said. At around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, a 35-year-old Plainfield man driving a Mercedes Benz crashed into several parked cars along Duncan Avenue near Delaware Avenue after being shot in the arm, police reports said. The victim told police he was shot while waiting in his car at Delaware and Duncan avenues, reports said. He said an unidentified man walked past his Mercedes several times before walking up to him and firing a handgun three times, hitting him once in the forearm, reports said. After he was shot, the victim told cops he ran to the Gulf gas station at Duncan Avenue and Routes 1&9 where he called police. At about 12:30 a.m. yesterday, South District police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Fulton and Garfield avenues, reports said. The 30-year-old Woodlawn Avenue victim, who suffered gunshot wounds to his right arm and right shoulder, told police he was shot by two masked men who robbed him of his wallet, which contained paperwork and ID, reports said. Then at 1:15 a.m., police were called to meet a 24-year-old Union Street man who was shot in the right leg, reports said. The victim told police he was walking along Bergen Avenue near Fairview Avenue when he felt a burning sensation in his right thigh and realized he had been shot, reports said. All three victims were treated at Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. City spokesman Stan H. Eason said the shootings do not appear to be related, but police "haven't ruled anything out."
