It was safe for the gunman, it's just not that safe to live in the area where the victim was shot. Then again you don't know why the person got shot he might not have been a victim. Stats say a lot.

View Larger Map Gunman on bicycle shoots man in mouth at park near Monticello Avenue Monday, July 05, 2010 A 19-year-old Jersey City man was shot in the mouth Saturday night by a young man riding a bike, according to police reports. The victim, a resident of Monticello Avenue, said he was at a park on Monticello near Bramhall Avenue at about 9 p.m. when a man rode by and shot him with a small black automatic handgun from a distance of about five feet, reports said. The victim could only describe his attacker as a black male, roughly 19 years old, reports said. A friend, who was with the victim, told police he didn't hear or see anything, reports said. Doctors at the Jersey City Medical Center concluded the injury was not life-threatening, reports said. KEN THORBOURNE
