View Larger Map Jersey City Heights man arrested for machete attack on taxi Monday, June 28, 2010 A 41-year-old Jersey City Heights man was arrested Friday after allegedly smashing the window of a cab with a machete and injuring the driver, reports said. Carlos L. Rivers, of Prospect Street, was charged with unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, criminal mischief and aggravated assault, reports said. Police were called to Prospect Street near Palisade Avenue at 10:42 p.m. on the report of a cab driver being assaulted, reports said. The 43-year-old taxi driver said he was dropping off some passengers when Rivers approached the cab and smashed the driver's side window with a machete, reports said. Police found the machete in a garden area nearby. The driver was treated at the scene for a minor injury to the left arm and had to have glass removed from his left eye, reports said. CHARLES HACK
