Two workers stuck on scaffold 17 stories above Washington Boulevard in Jersey City
By The Jersey Journal
May 25, 2010, 3:35PM

Google Maps480 Washington Boulevard in Downtown Jersey City, where two workers are stranded on a scaffold more than 150 feet above the street. Two workers, apparently window cleaners, are stranded 17 floors --- that's roughly 170 feet -- above Washington Boulevard in Jersey City.

Jersey Journal reporter Michaelangelo Conte reports from the scene that the two men are stuck on a scaffold outside a window on the 17th floor of 480 Washington Boulevard, a 32-story glass office building on the corner of Sixth Street Downtown.

The two men are huddled together at the right side of the scaffold. Jersey City Fire Director Armando Roman said rescue workers plan to attempt to cut a hole in one of the windows to bring the workers to safety.

The scaffold is anchored to the roof 15 floors above, but apparently has malfunctioned and cannot be raised the 150 feet.

I'm wondering the same....They have a bunch of emergency vehicles blocking the street in front of the Newport UBS building (the one with the weird light show on top at night right next to the Marina)

There's at least three of 'em that have been there for 30 minutes or more.
