So am I understanding this correctly that it is OKAY for this man to be buying this gun... while yes wrong that he got stuck up... i agree with Heights that if the kids were getting away, how does a man get 2 tires? Does anyone know what the real story was? I frankly feel a little uncomfortable that they were right by the park. There seems to be more and more of this stuff happening up here...

Also nice move by the teens to speed off down New York Avenue onto Observer Highway with two slashed tires.

Convient that a steel bar was handy for the victim to grab and smash the rear window with after the taxi caught up with the car.

Nice! I guess the victim wasn't doing anything wrong trying to buy an illegal handgun.

*This seems far-fetched, Adult gets in car with non-adults for sole purpose to buy non-registered weapons.
*Then the adult gets taken over and takes a punch, and gives up money.
*This is where the movie scene comes into play, after jumping out of the car the "victim" manages to slash not one but two tires.
*The victim also manages to hail a willing taxicab to follow the gun car and finds a steel bar perfect for windshield smashing.
*Then to cap it off a squad car happened to be near by to foil the robbery.
*The question here is did everyone live happily after, including the cab driver ??

A 30-year-old Jersey City man told police he was trying to buy a gun when three teens robbed him, according to reports. He eventually got his money back.

Following instructions he was given for the buy, the man met the juveniles at Hutton Street and Palisade Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and got into their 1997 Nissan Maxima, reports said.

One of the teens drove to the corner New York and Ravine avenues, at which point the boy in the front passenger seat got out of the car, opened the back door and put a knife to the man's stomach, reports said.

The boy punched the man in the face and told him to get out of the car. The teen in the back seat then took man's $300 as the driver punched the victim in the face, reports said.

The victim jumped out of the car and managed with his own knife to slash two the Nissan's tires as the teens sped off onto Observer Highway, reports said.

But not ready to part with his money, the victim hailed a taxi and followed them, reports said.
The taxi quickly caught up to the Nissan, now with two flat tires, and the victim leaped out of the cab, grabbed a steel bar and smashed the teens' car rear window, reports said.

The robbers sped off, but the victim found a Hoboken police officer at the corner of Paterson Plank Road and Observer Highway and told the cop he had been robbed.

Hoboken police searched of the area and found the teens at the corner of Seventh Street and Madison Avenue.

Police recovered the $300 and the knife used in the robbery. The teens, all 17-year-olds, were charged with robbery, unlawful possession of weapons and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, reports said.

There was no indication from Jersey City police reports the victim was charged with any crimes.
