A Jersey City man told police he was slashed in the back with a machete after his cousin got into a fight with another woman Sunday afternoon, reports said.

Interviewed at the Jersey City Medical Center, the 20-year-old victim told cops he and his cousin were at Sgt. Anthony Park at about 4 p.m. when his cousin got into a fight with a woman, reports said.

The other woman's boyfriend got involved and pulled a machete from his pants and slashed the victim across his upper back, the victim told cops, reports said.

The victim, who was driven to the hospital by a friend, told cops he could not identify his attacker and then became uncooperative, police said.

The man received six staples to close the gash, reports said.
