3 men shot in 2 incidents outside party

Three Jersey City males - ages 17, 18, and 20 - were shot late Saturday and early yesterday morning in two incidents and two people have been charged in the shootings, according to police reports.

The three victims were at a party late Saturday in the area of Bidwell and Martin Luther King Drive.

At around 11: 49 p.m., police were flagged down by a group outside the party where they found the 18-year-old, a resident of Wade Street, face down with a bullet wound in his back, reports said.

The victim was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center where doctors determined he suffered kidney and liver damage and needed to undergo surgery, reports said.

The 17- and 20-year-olds left the party to tell the family of the Wade Street victim that their family member had been shot, but on their way, they met up with a group on Wade Street walking toward Ocean Avenue, reports said.

Someone in that group opened fire, striking the 20-year-old in the right hand and grazing the 17-year-old on the right side of his head, reports said.

These two shooting victims were also taken to the Jersey City Medical Center.

Based on CCTV video, police arrested Daeshawn Judge, 20, of Bostwick Avenue, and Patrick F. Scott, 21, of Skyline Drive, in connection to the initial shooting and charged them with shots fired, aggravated assault, and criminal mischief, reports said.

Both men denied their involvement. Scott told police another man shot the 18-year-old because that man's girlfriend, Scott said, was making out with others at the party, reports said.
